Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM) is a national-scale advanced research infrastructure based at Sabancı University in Istanbul, specializing in nanotechnology, advanced materials, and deep-tech innovation. Established with public and foundation support, it provides world-class laboratories, cleanrooms, and high-end research equipment that enable both fundamental and applied R&D across sectors such as energy, health, food, water, and environmental technologies.

Within Istanbul and Türkiye’s startup ecosystem, SUNUM plays a critical deep-tech enabling role, particularly for science-based startups that require advanced prototyping and validation infrastructure. It offers access to shared research facilities, pilot-scale testing environments, technical expertise, and industry–academia collaboration opportunities, allowing startups to move from lab-scale research to commercialization.
