MİTTO | Marmara University Innovation and Technology Transfer Application and Research Center

Marmara University Innovation and Technology Transfer Application and Research Center (commonly known as MİTTO) is an institutional center established to support university-industry cooperation, enhance innovation capacity, and facilitate technology transfer across academic and industrial fields. Founded initially under the University Senate decision in May 2012 and later formalized as a research center in October 2017, MİTTO operates within Marmara University’s Göztepe Campus to bring together national and international research support mechanisms, project facilitation, legal and technical guidance, and commercialization pathways for research outputs. The center plays an essential role in enabling scientific research to transition into practical impact by offering legal support, intellectual property services, funding consultation, and project management assistance.

MİTTO’s scope includes fostering collaborations between academic researchers, industry partners, and public stakeholders; managing project support services for competitive national and international funds; and delivering entrepreneurship and incorporation activities such as pre-incubation programs and training. Through partnerships with national innovation systems and participation in programs like TÜBİTAK 1513 Technology Transfer Offices Support, the center contributes to enhancing technological outcomes, supporting start-ups and research teams, and strengthening Marmara University’s strategic innovation agenda.
